Lagi cerita cuti....

Lepas balik Langkawi, the next day, bertolak balik ke Temerloh. Cadangan untuk balik dengan keretapi dibatalkan kerana kehabisan tiket untuk cabin atau berth. Suamipun sudi hantar kami balik, dan dia balik naik bas ke Pendang kerana ada mesyuarat di pejabatnya, dan tak boleh cuti. Terpaksa meninggalkan 2 kenduri kawin hari tu. Bertolak seawal 8 pagi, alhamdulillah, perjalanan lancar dan sampai ke bandar Temerloh lebih kurang pukul 3 petang. Setelah menjamu selera dengan patin tempoyak, meneruskan perjalanan ke rumah yang lebih kurang 10 minit saja perjalanan. Mak, Apak dan Ti sekeluarga ada di rumah. Dapat jumpa Ti yang baru balik mengerjakan haji bersama suaminya shukor. Alhamdulillah sihat semuanya. Esoknya suami naik bas ke Alor setar, harga tiket RM 51, bas jalan pukul 11 pagi. Kami ada masa seminggu lagi untuk dihabiskan di temerloh. Antara aktiviti yang sempat dijalankan ialah, meronda bandar tengok kedai2 baru bukak . Sempat juga bertemu dengan rakan lama yang kebetulan berpindah ke Lanchang mengikut suami. Macam2 cerita, maklumlah , akhir sekali jumpa , sekejap saja masa majlis konvokesyen suami di UPM lebih kurang 13 tahun yang lepas. Selain mengupdate maklumat2 terkini, sempat juga bincang pasal kerja masing2. Sempat juga jumpa suaminya dan sorang lagi excoursemate yg turut mesyuarat di Hotel Sri Malaysia pada hari tersebut. Bila dah jumpa sorang, rindu pulak nak jumpa yang lain2, harap2 reunion DPIM 84 menjadilah nanti. Boleh jumpa kawan2 lama. Insyaallah.

Cerita cuti

Dah lama tak update blog. Ketiadaan kemudahan internet. 8/12, ke Langkawi , cuti2 Malaysia sampai 10/11. Lama jugak tak sampai Langkawi, rasanya dah dua tahun. Inipun ikut husband yang mesyuarat di Seaview hotel. Kami (My daughters and me) yang tak mesyuaratni, apa lagi. Ambil kesempatan meronda di sekitar pekan Kuah, dari satu kedai ke satu kedai, sampai surrender budak2 tu, sedangkan maknya masih semangat lagi. Hajat di hati nak cari casserole pyrex senang nak buat pie atau trifle. Tapi ada offer pulak dah, beli dinner set corelle dapat 4 biji mangkuk pyrex. Daripada nak beli casserole, terbeli dinner set pulak dah. Dan ada satu kedai tu, jual baju cantik2 dan harga berpatutan. Maka bertambahlah bagasi bila balik dari Langkawi.Selain daripada tu ada sudu dan senduk cantik. Teringin dan beli. Coklat jangan katalah, yang makan dan bawak balik bergendong2. Minyak gamat, beli yang susu kambing saja. minyak gamat banyak lagi. Ramai juga kat langkawi, nampak macam peserta2 kursus atau mesyuarat. Dikesempatan yang ada kami sewa kereta ke pantai Cenang. Mak datok.. banyaknya chalet, resort yang dibina di tepian pantai, sampai tak da public beach lagi. Kalau dulu Underwater world dikelilingi bendang yang dihuni kerbau2, sekarang dan dikelilingi oleh resort. Dan di resort ni Mat dan Minah Saleh yang ramai, bersantai , sunbathing di pantai. Begitulah Langkawi. Next time kalau ada rezeki datang langkawi lagi nak buat aktiviti lain pulak, island hoping, dan aktiviti2 alam sekitar insyaallah. OK, Langkawi, till we meet again.

MAKE FULL OF IT..

Jarang dapat kemana2 kerana kekangan masa, dan lain2. Jadi kalau ada peluang, gunakanlah sepenuhnya. I am talking about our trip to Langkawi this week. And after that going back to my beloved hometown, Temerloh. Nampaknya kena balik sendiri. Tu lah, husband dah elok2 jadi cikgu nak jadi pegawai pulak, jadi pensyarah pulak, tak dapat cuti macam cikgu. To make our trip more adventurous, we plan to go back by train. Only the three of us, my son won't come along. Orang Kedah ni sayang sungguh nak tinggal Kedah. Tak reti2 nak duduk tempat lain. Yang lelaki bila kawin dgn wanita kedah, sanggup ikut isteri balik kedah. Isteri ikut suami lain lah kan? Walaupun tak seronok, duduk jugak lah, tinggalkan kampung halaman, dan keluarga tersayang. Balik kampung di samping sanak saudara ni, macam di refresh balik. Macam dapat caj bateri baru, atau dapat udara untuk bernafas dalam keadaan lemas. Bila balik sana, selalu rasa kedamaian di hati yang tak jumpa di tempat2 lain. Rumah tu walaupun tak cantik tapi rasa selesa sangat. Maklumlah tempat jatuh lagi dikenang, inikan pula tempat membesar disamping orang2 tersayang.
So... looking forward to. Esok nak ke stesen keretaapi, nak beli tiket, harap2 dapat kabin atau birth. Supaya dapat perjalanan yang selesa. Insyaallah.

KENDURI

Hari ni pergi kenduri seorang rakan sekolah. Isterinya pulak ustazah budak2 tu, jadi mau lah mereka mengikut ke kenduri tersebut. Selepas balik ambil anak yang tusyen , terus singgah di rumah kenduri. Memang awal2 lagi dah risau, nanti nak parking payah, jalan tu agak sempit , di kiri-kanannya ada bendang. Walaupun agak jauh berjalan, alhamdulillah dapat juga letak kereta dibahu jalan yang sempit tu. Masa sampai tu, ramai sungguh sebab serentak dengan rombongan pengantin perempuan. Masa makan tu, deejay asyik2 mengumumkan "tolong alih kereta ini dan itu kerana menganggu kelancaran trafik". Hairan juga, tuan punya kereta tu masa parking tak terfikir ke kereta dia menganggu lalu lintas. Jalan depan rumah pengantin memang tersumbat teruk hari tu, lepas makan dan nak balik terpaksa tunggu dalam kereta lebih kurang 1/2 jam kerana lori2 besar nak lalu.  Selain drp itu, semua nya berjalan dgn baik, tahniah kepada tuan kenduri kerana berjaya mengadakan kenduri yang cantik, makanpun sedap, tetamu2 pun puas hati. Terima kasih.

BELUM ADA REZEKI

Hajat hati untuk menunaikan umrah pada bulan Disember ini tidak kesampaian. Syarikat yang kami mendaftar untuk pergi umrah tersebut dah confirm visa umrah tidak dikeluarkan oleh pihak Arab Saudi Disember ini. Atas alasa, mereka sedang buat program pembersihan, memastikan semua jemaah visa haji sudah pulang ke negara asal masing2. Nampaknya tunggu bulan Disember 2011 pulaklah. Insyaallah jika tiada aral melintang, sabar sajalah menunggu setahun lagi.

CUTI

17 hb Nov, bersambung dengan cuti raya Qurban, adalah cutu akhir tahun persekolahan. Walaupun dah terbercuti seawal 11/10 lagi, namun cuti sekolah disambut dengan gembira juga. Selama ni kami berlima saja, me, husband dan 3 cats, tambah 2 org yang balik asrama , kemudian tambah sorang yang balik kolej. Ramailah kat rumah sekarang ni. Tapi cuti ni belum pergi bercuti lagi, paper sains pertanian selalu lambat. Tak sampai hati pulak nak tinggal budak2 tu awal2, sebab ada gap dan boleh buat kelas ulangkaji lagi. Dan nampaknya budak2 tu berminat nak hadir. 5 hb Dis, hari pertama kelas tambahan. 10 orang tak hadir. Tak apalah, mungkin ada kenduru,terlibat kenduri ke. Selain kelas Sains pertanian, kelas sains buat ulang kaji kimia dan kelas 5 SS buat ulangkaji Prinsip Perakaunan. Selain kak Norma buat revision kimia dan Pauziah buat revision Akaun, Gang-gang panitia pendidikan islam pun ada kerana buat perancangan Strategik 2011-2015. Syabas semua, cikgu yang dedikasi dan komited nak menjaga dan meningkatkan nama baik sekolah kita. Kalau kita ikhlas dalam sesuatu kerja, Allah Taala akan membalasnya dengan kebaikan juga. Sesungguhnya Allah tidak berlengah-lengah dalam memberi balasan. Oleh itu cikgu-cikgu, kerjalah kerana Allah, bukan untuk menunjuk-nunjuk pada seseorang , atau memuaskan hati seseorang, kerana tiada keikhlasan di situ dan hasilnya nanti tak mendatangkan kepuasan.

Lebih kurang seminggu lagi umat Islam seluruh dunia akan menyambut hari kebesaran Islam iaitu Aidil Adha @ Raya Qurban @ Raya Haji. 17 Nov telah diisytiharkan hari wukuf bersamaan dengan hari RABU. Selalunya Raya ni persiapannya lebih sederhana berbanding raya Aidil Fitri, tetapi namanya dah raya, kena lah buat serba sedikit yang patut. Biskut raya dah ada 2 jenis yg di beli oleh suami dari staf pejabat dia. Untuk makanan berat di pagi raya tu last year laksa kelantan. Oleh kerana keupayaan yg agak terbatas, rasanya tahun ni nak buat sphageti dan untuk dessert trifle saja. Mudah dan tak ambil masa sangat. Siapa nak makan..makan, tak mau sudah. Sebab sphageti ni bukanlah favourite sangat kalau belah sini. So sphageti it is! Baju raya pulak, pakai yg raya puasa dulu lah. Ada yang belum pakai lagi sebab terlalu ranggi dan over. Anak2 pun macam tu jugak.
Untuk rumah pulak, wallpaper dan blinds ruang tamu tak siap-siap lagi. Janji 3 hari , la .. dah masuk 2 minggu. Kalau tak sempat pasang sebelum raya haji pun tak kesah lah, sebab tak expect guest pun. Duduk pi lah dalam living room yang tak berapa sempurna tu sapa-sapa yang mai.
Raya kedua kot ada korban yang hubby sertai ditempat kerja dia. Nak kena pi joinlah nampaknya acara tersebut. Kalau nak pi makan-makan, tak da masalah. Kalau buat kerja tu masalah lah sikit.
Kepada jemaah haji yang sudah hampir sempurna kerja hajinya, semoga mendapat haji yang mabrur dan semoga selamat kembali ke tanah air. Insyaallah jika tiada aral, kami akan menyusul mengerjakan umrah pada 15/12 hingga 28/12 nanti. Setakat ni macam2 cerita didengar jadi tak lah menaruh harapan yang tinggi menggunung. Semoga perancangan dapat dilaksanakan dgn izin Allah.

Musim banjir kali ini..teringat 40 tahun dulu

Musim tengkujuh atau musim pejor memang tak asing lagi di tempat kami , Temerloh. Masuk saje bulan Disember, langit bagai nak runtuh, curahan hujan lebat, sampai tak celik2 mata, hujan yg turun. Sampai berminggu2 keadaan ni, dan kami memantau paras air sungai Pahang yg cuma beberapa meter saja dari rumah. Kami ada cara sendiri utk memastikan air sungai naik atau turun. Kalau sampah atau macam yg kami panggil sapar mengalir bersama-sama kelajuan air sungai pahang , maknanya air semakin naik. Selalunya masa ni apak sibuk akan bubuh tenggala perahu bawah rumah kami, bersiap sedia untuk beroperasi sekiranya kami perlu berpindah. Selain itu juga apak buat stok makanan, selain beras, biskut 4 segi satu tin besar dan sadin adalah kemestian. Hujan-hujan selalunya lapar, jadi kerjanya seluk tin biskut. Belakang rumah kami paya, selalunya air paya naik dulu drp air sungai, jadi belakang rumah selalu naik air dulu. Zaman kanak2 , semua benda buat kita excited, begitu juga musim banjir. Bila air belakang rumah naik, duduk kat tangga belakang sambil main2 air. Dan kalau nasib baik, mak ajak ronda2 paya belakang naik perahu. Mak memang terer kemudi perahu, maklumlah dalam paya banyak tunggul, perdu tapi kami lalu dgn perahu dicelah2 semua tu tanpa sebarang masalah kerana mak memang terer kemudi perahu. Banjir tahun 1970 paling teruk kerana air sungai naik dan alirannya terlalu laju sehingga menghanyutkan rumah kini , begitu juga rumah2 penduduk kg yg lain. Rumah kami terputus 2, separuh masuk ke sg pahang dan separuh lagi tersangkut di busut beberapa meter dari tapak asal. Walaupun keliling rumah dikat dengan tali kapal, rumah tetap tak dpt diselamatkan. Waktu tu kami ditempatkan di pusat pemulihan banjir di pusat perkhidmatan haiwan bukit angin. Semasa rumah akan hanyut, apak, arwah nek dan arwah tok ada menyaksikannya. Bayangkan perasaan mereka ketika melihat rumah yang dah didiami sekian lama mula terangkat dibawa arus, kemudian tali kapal yang mengikat rumah putus satu persatu, rumah ibu dan dapur terputus dua , seterusnya rumah ibu terjun ke sungai dan hilang ditelan sg pahang yg sedang ganas airnya. Setelah air surut, dan kami dibenarkan pulang ke rumah, ke mana kami nak pulang kerana rumah sudah tiada. Dengan Separuh rumah dapur tersadai tidak jauh drp situ, papan dan atap diambil utk membina pondok sementara. Begitu juga dgn penduduk kg yang lain, maka bersaparlah kami beramai2 dalam kg tersebut. Boleh dikatakan kebanyakkan rumah hanyut atau musnah dalam banjir 1970 itu. Namun usia yg masih muda tak mengerti langsung kesusahan yg dilalui ketika itu, mungkin mak dan apak menunjukkan sikap tenang dan tak nampak macam susah pun. Cuma arwah nek yang menangis meraung2 setiap 10 minit kerana teringatkan rumah yg hanyut. Bila di darjah 3, cikgu suruh cerita pengalaman yg tak dapat dilupakan, dan inilah cerita yang diberitahu di hadapan kelas . Masih ingat lagi Mr Teoh, guru kelas nampak sedih ketika mendengarnya, walaupun si pencerita bercerita dgn penuh ceria. Itulah banjir paling teruk di Malaysia, iaitu 40 tahun yg lalu.

Recent gas exploration activity in the south east region of the Arabian desert uncovered a skeletal remains of a human of phenomenal size. This region of the Arabian Desert is called the Empty Quarter , or in Arabic, 'Rab-Ul-Khalee'.

The discovery was made by the Aramco Exploration team. As Allah states in the Quran that He had created people of phenomenal size the like of which He has not created since. These were the people of Aad where Prophet HUD was sent. They were very tall, big, and very powerful, such that they could put their arms around a tree trunk and uproot it. Later these people, who were given all the power, turned against Allah and the Prophet and transgressed beyond all boundaries set by Allah. As a result they were destroyed. Ulema's of Saudi Arabia believe these to be the remains of the people of Aad. Saudi Military has secured the whole area and no one is allowed to enter except the ARAMCO personnel. Yang menarik perhatian...

Kesian negara jiran, lepas satu..satu musibah melanda. Mereka memanggilnya kiamat kecil. Yg terakhirnya letusan gunung merapi. Di sebalik cerita letusan ni ada cerita yg menarik di mana rupa2nya, gunung ni ada penjaga atau penguncinya. Pengunci (Spiritual Guardian) ni dilantik oleh sultan tempat tersebut. Lebih dikenali dgn nama Mbah Marjan, berusia 85 tahun. Mbah bermaksud datuk. Nama sebenarnya Raden Ngabehi Surakso Hargo. Antara tugasnya ialah berkomunikasi dgn semangat gunung, mengadakan acara menghantar hadiah antaranya minyak wangi, kain dan 8 tahun sekali pelana kuda.
     Gaji untuk tugasnya hanya $1/bulan. Beliau mula terkenal bila gunung merapi memberi amaran akan meletus pada tahun 2006. Penguatkuasa mewajibkan semua berpindah termasuk Mbah Maridjan yg rumahnya cuma 5 km drp puncak gunung. Tapi beliau enggan kerana menurutnya Merapi tidak akan mengeluarkan larva, ternyata telahannya benar.
    Walaubagaimanapun, 26/10/2010 walaupun didesak supaya berpindah dia tetap enggan kerana katanya dia ada tanggung jawab dan masanya dgn merapi sudah hampir. 13 orang yg memujuknya pada hari tersebut turut terkorban. Kali akhir komunikasi dengan salah seorang pemujuk melalui telefon menyebut Mbah Mardjan sedang solat. Debu panas bersuhu 1000 degree akhirnya mengorbankan Mbah Mardjan bersama 13 org yg turut berada di rumahnya. Mbah Mardjan ditemui dalam keadaan bersujud kerana dipercayai dia sedang solat pada waktu tersebut.

Another bus accident..

Another accident involving a bus. This time near Genting Sempah. A group of Belia 4B from Siong , Baling were the passengers. Most of them were so young, around 15 to 20 years. Only the drivers are 36 ang 52 years old on the bus. The passengers realised that there were something wrong with the bus like drops of water from the air condition, no power to climb the hill, even one of them heard the driver was warned that the brake was not in a good condition. But still they went on with the trip which took seven lives and injured many others. If they were a bit demanding, ask for a better bus, or boycott the trip, this thing wont happen. But then they were just innocent boys from Siong who were eager to go on with what they planned maybe months before. After interrogation, the driver had no driving licence and have to keep on working as bus driver to support his family, eventhough the pay is so low. Just imagine, RM120 per trip as far as Kedah-Malacca. This is a case of "we can change it" but they do not bother  or just ignore the details. As consumers, we have the rights to demand for better services, especially when safety is involved.

I have all the time in the world, and nothing to do, or too lazy sick to do anything. So potato couch is what I am these days. I see and observe some advertisement are so silly of how they sound,seems and the way they fool the consumers. 7 silliest ads in random order:

When I was warded in PMC and undergone an operation to fix my fractured wrist, I was placed in the labour ward for there was no other bed available. I supposed to spend another night, but to my relief my doctor asked whether I wanted to go home that day. Of course I agreed. Then I knew why, many pregnant ladies had booked that date, 10.10.2010 to deliver their babies. They'll be induced or ceasarianed to achive their purpose. But, my newest nephew arrived safely that day by normal birth. Congratulation to the parents for their latest edition. And for the baby, mak long hope to see you in December.

THE MISSING GUPPIES

Our guppies were missing one by one, and is a mystery. Lastly only one left and my husband put the last guppy in a glass bowl and put the bowl on the coffee table in tha living room. Then, the culprits showed up , not only one but both of them were caught red handed. Yes Chiklon and Miko staring at the fish with excitement but then acted innocently when I took their pictures.

SHEPPERD PIE

This recipe is quite easy and fast. The taste is good and after eating it, we will feel long lasting fullness.
Ingredients:
potatoes, plenty of it.
minced beef
chopped onions and garlics
chopped vegetables, like carrots,corns,peas

Method:
saute chopped onion in pre heated butter, put minced beef, cook until done. Put in mixed vegetables, mix well. Take out and put in coriander to get rid of the excess liquid.
Potatoes, boiled, mash with butter until fine. Put the fillings in a casserole or if you like, in the container in the picture above. Topped it with mashed potato, sprinkle some mozarella cheese on top. Baked in an oven. You can eat it hot, or after chilled in in the referigerator.

Malang x berbau......

7.10.2010, accident in the bathroom. While I was washing my headscarves and final rinsed them in the softener , the bathroom floor began to get slippery. wrong step taken and there I was, on the floor with big bang and painful. Looking at my left wrist I knew that something was terribly wrong with it. The x-ray proved that it was broken and slightly out of place. The doctor suggest to go for operation, put titanium in my wrist to straightened things up. He said that the other option , pull the wrist manually and cement will take longer time to heal, and theres a risk that the alignments might not back to normal. So after 15 hours of fasting, I was pushed into the operation theather. Yes, I have to fast that long because the OT was occupied. As I was already on the table I manage to look at the wall's clock and it was 12.30 pm. When they injected me with the anaesthetic I started to fell uncomfortably drowsy. I only wake up when I heard my name being called,at 3.30 , I was still confused and took a few seconds to realised what was going on. Alhamdullillah it was over, I was pushed back to my bed, feeling so sleepy and only fully woke up at 6.00pm. So, now I'm on my way to recovery. I hope everything will go well as I'm not a very good single handed.

On 3rd October, the ASMENSI Hostel invited all teachers and staffs to their raya celebration. Along with the retirement event from ASMENSI for our PK who will be retired this Wednesday. Nice event, congratulation ASMENSIS.

Majlis Bacaan Yaasin...

Majlis bacaan Yaasin, memohon keberkatan daripada Allah SNW untuk pelajar yang bakal menduduki PMR tahun ini.Majlis ini di adakan pada 3 Oktober, bermula jam 12.00 tgh, bukan sahaja untuk pelajar PMR tetapi juga untuk guru2 dan waris2 yang akan menunaikan haji pada tahun ini. Diikuti dengan solat zuhur dan solat hajat berjemaah.

All in a day works-Restu Guru

Sunday (3rd of October), as usual the school started its day with doa reciting by the prefect and singing of the national anthem. Then came the announcement, "All form three students and teachers, please go to the Open Hall for today's assembly". And after a lot of coughes and sneezes, the students were able to stand in straight lines. The PMR examination secretary briefed the students on what to do's and don'ts during the examination period. As usual, the students were reminded again and again to bring their IC and examination slip to the exam hall. (But of course the next day, quite a few ask for letter of confirmation from the office for not bringing their IC and slips). Followed by a few words by the Principal, then came the Restu Guru time. But as agreed by other teachers Restu Guru nowadays is not as deep Restu Guru few years back, when some students and also teachers shed tears as the event was so full of emotions. But now its just a thing to do. Students nowadays had lost their appreciation, arrogant and hard headed. They thought that they become clever by their own. Never mind, we teachers had done our duty to prepare you for the examination, the rest is up to you and Allah's blessing. So, good luck for the examination.

THE LAVENDERIANS

End of Phase four... nothing to look forward to anymore. There are 19 of us, from Pendang and Kubang Pasu District. The first phase started on 2nd of August 2010 , the second phase during the fasting month, third phase, after the Raya holiday, and the last one a week after. The objective of the course is to top up the proficiency of Non optionist english language teachers. I still remember the first day of the course, every one was so polite and quite.. But the day onwards, true colours came out. The course was fun because of the participants and trainers. We came from different background, me myself a science agricultural , there were visual art teacher, mathematic, ict, Islamic knowledge, special education and on and on.. That add the fun of the course, our differences completed each other , we were pieces of jigsaw puzzle put together and the product is tremendous. The group of 19 then divided into four for the Global Citizen Day events, where we have to put up a one day exhibition. Themes were laid out for us to choose. We were brief on what should we do and prepare for the exhibition. Our group chose the theme 'food around the world'. We discussed from one food to another cannot made up our mind and kept telling ourselves, "there is still plenty of time". And on the third phase only we decided to make roti arab but with different name to give it a little "umphh". The last phase came, and it was only one and half a day to prepare for the project. We need to come up with a 3 panels promotional brochure, an information leaflet, flow charts of the process and procedures, language activities, language games and even songs. We had to race against time, but under work stress only we know that we can pull things together. A new invented recipe, a new song lyric, colourful charts, creative games were produced. Although there were sneezes and coughs here and there the objective of our group had been achieved. Thanks to all the group members, kak Nadzipah, Kak Fadzillah, Mr. Cheah, Nor Adzimah and Zuridah for support and cooperation. May Allah bless you all. All of you are lovely lavenderians that will stay in my heart. Hope we will meet again.

Raya@SMKSI

Today is raya again for the whole of citizen of SMKSI. But out of my forgetful head, i left the camera and my mobile phone too. So , no pictures just words to describe. I was away for the MBI course most of the week, and today my first day at school after course and our school raya. What I want to write about is what not to forget for the next celebration with God's willing.
1. The Majlis guru should plan an appropriate committee members, not tangkap muat. with over a hundred staffs, more than one thousand students, this occasion should be well planned. Or, there will be kecacatan here and there.
2. The ketupat nasi should be cooked a day before hand, easier, nicer to cut.
3. Committee members should be assigned to prepare foods like rendang, gravies which were so short today. We wouldn't mind, just ask us, and we'll be happy to do it. If we are not asked we'll afraid that its us terhegeh2 want to do this and that.
4. The area for the celebration must be wider, so it will be comfortable for everyone. Look like our cafetaria cannot accomodate our numbers anymore, so, why not next year, rent a tent or two, so that we can divide boys and girls which will be more Islamic.
5. Dont't serve rice . like today, the students were quite reluctant to take the rice, they were just eaten during the recess and still full. They were more interested to get the cakes and cookies. Next year, prepare tomato rice with chicken for them, they'll love it. Today's white rice with gulai ceroi beef and long beans were not to their taste. As a result there were lots of rice left over, but, hey, what happened to the gulai??
So, those are the post mortem of today's event, hope that things will be better next time. But, thank you very much to all the person involved to get the plan a success, What is importang? Team work.

Raya 2010

Raya come again, we went back several days before raya. We reached Gombak at about 3 pm to pick zhafri and Aiman at Zhafri's rented house. We continued our journey, a smooth one, as other people did not start heading to Kampung yet, unlike last year when we got stucked in Karak Hiway because the Kelantanese were swarming to Kelantan via Bentong-Kuala Lipis road. And the last minute decision by the Education Ministry to give Friday as school holiday nation wide. Well, we reached Temerloh at 6 pm , so there's still time to stop by Temerloh Bazar Ramadan. There were large crowd, (as usual) so we squeezed our way frantically , should I say as time run short. Masak Tempoyak ikan patin is a must to my husband, so I bought two big pieces, ayam percik, masak lemak cili padi bamboo shoots, sambal tempoyak with ubi kayu shoots, roti John, and , I never see it before, spiral potato stick. And of course air katira, as mentioned by a friend on fb. It took only 5 minutes to my mother's house. Although I've been leaving in Pendang for more than 20 years, but when I saw my parent's house it still a "home sweet home" to me. Alhamdulillah, we made it safely. My beloved parents were already waiting on the verandah, welcoming us. My other sisters were celebrating raya this year with their in-laws as this year its the husbands' kampung turn. Nor came back that night after break fasting, Ti the next day, Tini the first raya and Ri the second raya. So, its seemed that only my mum and me will be preparing the food. Its ok though ,only once a year.
